The Cochiti Recreation boat ramp (Westside of Lake) is open year round and is accessed by a paved road. The ramp has 4 loading/unloading concrete lanes. There is a three dollar fee for boat launching, or an annual pass can be purchased for $30 at the Park Office. Boaters are required to register their vessels with New Mexico's Vehicle Department according to the size and type. The Cochiti boat ramp area consists of paved and gravel parking lots, a boat rigging area, and a courtesy dock. Wind-warning light systems are located on hilltops near the boat ramps. When the wind-warning lights are flashing, it is best to get to shelter or off of the lake.

Adjacent to the Cochiti boat ramp is a Universally Accessible Fishing Pier with a small parking lot and three shelters with tables..

The Tetilla Recreation boat ramp (Eastside of Lake) is open from 01 April through 31 October and is accessed by a paved road. The ramp has 4 loading/unloading concrete lanes. There is a three dollar fee for boat launching, or an annual pass can be purchased for $30 at the Park Office. Boaters are required to register their vessels with New Mexico's Vehicle Department according to the size and type. The Tetilla boat ramp area consists of a gravel parking lot and a courtesy dock. Directions: Take I-25 north from Albuquerque, NM to the 259 exit, west on NM 22 through Pena Blanca to the Project Office. OR I-25 from Santa Fe, NM to the 264 exit, west on NM 16 and then right at the stop sign at NM 22, then up to the Project Office..

Fishing Info: Cochiti Lake is located within the boundaries of the Pueblo de Cochiti Nation on the Rio Grande about fifty miles upstream from Albuquerque. Cochiti is stocked in cool months with rainbow trout. In addition to stockers, 3- to 5-pound rainbows often show up from November through February. Similar size browns and some big rainbows also show up in those months on the Rio Grande below the Stilling Basin. However Cochiti is know more for the northern pikes, walleyes and smallmouth bass. Some northern pikes are in the mid 40 inch range and walleye can be nearly 30 inches in length
